Product Feature And Application

Characteristics of Grab Ship Unloaders

High Efficiency:

Large grab capacity (up to tens of tons), fast cycle speed, and single-unit unloading efficiency of up to thousands of tons per hour.

Often integrated with belt conveyors and stacker-reclaimers to form continuous handling systems, enhancing logistics efficiency.

Strong Adaptability:

Capable of handling diverse bulk materials (varying types and particle sizes) and compatible with different vessel sizes and cargo stacking configurations.

Advanced Automation:

Equipped with intelligent control systems for automated positioning, anti-sway mechanisms, and path planning, minimizing manual intervention.

Eco-Friendly and Energy-Saving:

Utilizes enclosed conveying systems or spray dust suppression systems to reduce airborne particulates.

Some models incorporate energy recovery technologies.

Robust Structure:

Heavy-duty steel construction designed for high-frequency, high-intensity operations, ensuring long service life.

Applications of Grab Ship Unloaders

Primary Scenarios:
Large-scale ports, thermal power plants, steel plants, building material terminals, and other sites requiring bulk material handling.

Typical Materials:
Coal, iron ore, bauxite, grains, fertilizers, sand, gravel, etc.

Customization Options:
Specialized models can be tailored with explosion-proof or corrosion-resistant features to meet requirements in industries such as chemical processing and food storage.

Components and Functions of Grab Ship Unloaders

1. Gantry Structure

Function: Acts as the primary support framework, providing movement tracks for the grab system and ensuring overall stability.

Components: Includes main beams, legs, and balance beams, typically constructed from high-strength steel to withstand heavy loads and harsh environments.

2. Grab System

Function: Directly grabs, lifts, and releases bulk materials, serving as the core component of unloading operations.

Components:

Grab Bucket: Dual or multi-shell structure that opens and closes to grasp materials.

Wire Rope/Hydraulic Drive Mechanisms: Control the opening/closing and lifting of the grab bucket.

3. Travel Mechanism

Function: Drives the entire machine to move longitudinally along dock rails, covering unloading requirements across different ship holds.

Components: Motors, reducers, wheel assemblies, and rail systems, enabling smooth and precise movement.

4. Hoisting & Closing Mechanism

Function:

Hoisting Mechanism: Vertically lifts the grab bucket to transfer materials from ship holds to discharge points.

Closing Mechanism: Controls the opening and closing of the grab bucket to ensure efficient material handling.

5. Slewing Mechanism

Function: Enables horizontal rotation of the grab system to expand operational range and accommodate varying discharge angles.

Components: Slewing bearings, drive motors, and gear systems, supporting rotation up to 360° or within a limited range.

6. Conveying System

Function: Transports materials released by the grab bucket to rear storage yards or transport equipment (e.g., belt conveyors).

Components: Hoppers, chutes, or short-distance belt conveyors, seamlessly integrated with main conveying lines.

7. Control System

Function: Facilitates automated operations, including grab positioning, anti-sway control, path planning, and fault monitoring.

Components: PLCs, sensors, human-machine interfaces (HMI), and remote monitoring modules.

8. Dust Suppression System

Function: Reduces dust emissions during unloading to comply with environmental regulations.

Components: Spray systems, enclosed covers, or dry mist suppression equipment.

9. Power System

Function: Supplies electrical or hydraulic energy to power the equipment.

Components: High-voltage cable reels, transformers, or diesel generators (for mobile units).

10. Safety Devices

Function: Ensures operational safety by preventing overloads, collisions, or unexpected shutdowns.

Components: Limit switches, wind speed monitors, emergency braking systems, and lightning protection devices.
